My Story

Hi everyone!

I’m Kenneth and I have been living in Chiang Mai, Thailand with my wife and our furbabies since 2014.

We chose to move here after coming for a brief vacation in 2013. We had no idea what Chiang Mai had to offer before I decided on an impulse to take Hana and my aunt here for a break.

During our visit, I just felt in my heart that this is where we should start our new home and trusting in God, we packed up and moved.

We had some savings when we came but a series of unplanned events and poor decisions on my part depleted it after a year.

The expected response would have been to leave and return home but we decided to remain because I still felt I was led here and that this was going to be our new home.

This blog is my way of documenting our ongoing journey from having practically nothing to one day accomplishing my dream of building a home for Hana and our furbabies.

I don’t mean taking a loan to buy a house. I’m talking about earning what we need to be able to afford a small piece of land on which I will build our home myself, with help from some friends.

My inspiration came from watching, “The Little House On The Prairie” on TV when I was very young.

What began as a dream almost 45 years ago, is now slowly becoming a reality because I made the tough decision 4 years ago to leave everything to God and brave the challenges in a foreign country instead of playing it safe and returning home to my family.

This is why I named this blog, “Choose An Inspired Life”.

I believe we can live the life we want if we make the right but difficult choices. I wish I had made the choice of pursuing my dream a long time ago, but I have no regrets.

Everything that happened led me to where I am today, and I am grateful.

I hope that by sharing my experience and journey, I can inspire others to choose to follow their dreams sooner and not drift through the rat race as I did for years.

But it’s not going to be all about me.

I will also share stories about inspiring people who are making a difference in the lives of others.

You are cordially invited to be a part of my simple life, accompanying Hana and me, as we do what we can to make my dream come true, hopefully, sooner than later.

Please subscribe to my mailing list so I can keep you informed of important updates when I post them.

Thank you.

Kenneth
